Eco-Friendly Paper Trays for French Bakery

Affected by updated EU environmental rules and unified food contact safety regulations, plenty of mainstream French semi-finished bakery brands are actively phasing out disposable rigid plastic trays to meet local plastic reduction compliance. Facing urgent packaging upgrading demands, our local bakery client abandoned long-used plastic holders and adopted eco-friendly paper tray solutions. We customized durable double-sided PE coated paper trays professionally processed from premium PE Paper Roll, adopting qualified food-grade Ivory Board Paper as the main raw substrate.

This food packaging tray is made of pure food-grade wood pulp based Ivory Board, a high-rigidity food-contact Paper Paper Board popular for European bakery packaging. With uniform double-sided PE coating processed on the paper board surface, it forms an effective barrier layer that can stably block moisture, dough water and edible grease permeation. The finished paper trays are specially developed for direct contact with frozen dough, unbaked pastries and all kinds of refrigerated semi-finished bakery food.

Featuring stable physical performance, the trays adapt to harsh low-temperature cold chain storage and long-distance cold chain logistics perfectly. Meanwhile, its standardized size and board hardness fit fully automatic bakery packaging lines without cracking or edge warping. Compared with traditional single-use plastic trays, this paper-based packaging solution cuts overall plastic consumption by 90%, fully meeting strict EU food-grade testing and local plastic ban standards.

After sample verification and batch trial production, the eco-friendly paper trays have been fully launched in all the client’s production workshops and supporting bakery factories.
